The Prairie News is a student produced newspaper that serves the Kickapoo High School population as well as all of Southwest Missouri as a part of the PN Media group. We publish full news, opinion, feature, and sports information. The Prairie News operates as an open forum for the students of Kickapoo as well as the Springfield community. The Kickapoo High School Journalism Department is an Apple based program. We photograph using Cannon Digital SLR Rebels as well as Sony advanced point and shoot. We produce our paper using Adobe InDesign CS3 for Mac as well as Adobe Photoshop CS3 for Mac. PN Media includes:

-The Prairie News prints 1700+ copies of an average 20 page tabloid paper with the services of The Missourian based in St. Louis Missouri readers.

-khsprairienews.com which provides in-depth and multi-media content to the more than 80,000 daily readers from the Springfield metro area and around the world.

-FirstALERTS which provide LIVE information from sporting events, breaking news, and cancellations

-PN LIVE which provides exclusive streaming video from high profile local events as well as Kickapoo sporting events.
